Unbelievable Com Ga in Hoi An

Com (=Rice) Ga (=Chicken) is, by definition, a very simple dish, but hey, very complex in taste! Each region has its own variation, and we wish we could try them all… In Hoi An, the rice is generally cooked in chicken stock with a dash of turmeric and served with shredded chicken that has been boiled whole.

At Com Ga An Hien, we also received a delicious broth that we assumed was to be poured on the rice, so that is exactly what we did! We found out afterwards that this often contains chicken liver and heart… No regrets, still delicious!

The flavours are so fresh with a good amount of herbs, lime, and a perfect spicy zing. It is definitely one of those dishes that you can have at any time of the day.

IN SHORT – Com Ga is perfect comfort food but with the complexity and finesse of the Vietnamese cuisine.
